UWB Signal RF Test
Release date:
2024-11-01

UWB is a wireless communication technology based on IEEE 802.15.4a/z standard, optimized for secure and precise micro-positioning applications. It is widely used in precise indoor positioning location information services and secure information exchange. As an ultra-wideband technology, the UWB test system requires at least 500MHz bandwidth, pico-second (ps) level timing accuracy, higher receiver sensitivity and a larger frequency range. Currently, products such as terminals or car keys with UWB functions need to be tested in OTA mode during the R&D and production stages.

The Welzek UWB OTA test system integrates our T6290F wireless comprehensive tester, time delay unit (TDU) and UWB OTA chamber. The tester supports a maximum analysis bandwidth of 2GHz, and the OTA darkroom frequency range is from 700MHz to 12GHz, which can support all channels (CH0 to CH15) and different bandwidths required by the UWB system. Three single-polarized antennas are configured on the top of the OTA chamber, supporting positive and negative 30-degree rotation, which can be flexibly used for AOA performance testing of UWB devices under test (DUT). In the meanwhile, our test system provides a complete calibration and comprehensive testing solutions, and can perform RF index parameter testing, ToF testing, and AOA testing on UWB DUT. Customers can also configure TDU modules in each RF channel as needed to adjust the signal delay of different antennas, with the highest accuracy reaching 1ps.
